American Mortgage Diversity Council names new chair

Tai Christensen, CBC Mortgage Agency’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) officer, has been appointed as the new chair of the American Mortgage Diversity Council (AMDC). She will succeed outgoing chair Lola Oyewole.

CBC Mortgage, a housing finance agency that provides down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers, has announced that Christensen will lead AMDC’s efforts to promote DEI throughout the mortgage industry. Last year, she became a member of the Dallas-based organization’s advisory board. Christensen has been with CBC Mortgage since 2018 and has 20 years of real estate finance experience under her belt.

“When it came time to choose our next chair, it was clear to everyone that Tai was the best and obvious choice,” said AMDC executive director Gina Gallutia. “We are thrilled for her to lead the council as we tackle the key DEI issues in our industry this year.”
